Dr. Péter Levente Lakatos, Director General of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB), was elected President of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) at the Association’s General Assembly held in October 2026. For the first time in ENQA’s history, a Hungarian expert has been elected to this prestigious international position.
ENQA is a leading organisation in European higher education quality assurance, playing a key role in developing and promoting quality assurance principles and practices across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Dr. Péter Levente Lakatos has served as a member of the ENQA Board since 2023 and held the position of Treasurer from 2025. At the General Assembly, he was also re-elected to the Board for a further three-year term.
His election represents not only an outstanding recognition of his professional achievements but also a significant milestone for Hungarian higher education quality assurance and MAB’s international engagement.
